The RR Review: Smashbox's Mega Vision Palette

My first review post! How exciting! Recently, my mother brought home Smashbox's Mega Vision palette for me to try. I'm not really a huge fan of their brand, but I decided to give it a go. The only product of their's that I really worship is their colorless Photo Finish Foundation Primer; which unfortunately I no longer use because I do not wear foundation, but I did wear it under all my stage makeup for years when I used to dance. This palette comes with a mirror, several mini "look" cards, 30 eye shadow shades, 3 blushes, and one bronzer.

I enjoy using this palette mostly because of it's large range of colors and creamy textures. It's so versatile! I can create so many looks using just this palette or by combining it with other shadows I own to create even more looks, it's great! The textures of these shadows are also pretty great— the metallic shades are super creamy and the others apply nice and smooth as well. I have not tried out the blushes or the bronzer yet as a) I don't wear blush and b) that bronzer is so not my color, but they seemed just fine when I did the swatches. My most favorite thing about these shadows are that they are SO PIGMENTED! The color is great and lasts all through the day, but I do suggest applying primer before hand anyways. I'd say the only down fall to this palette is the major fallout from the shadows. When I first experimented with it, I used the Red shade and it was fallout city, seriously. I spent forever just trying to clean it up before going at it again. Tip: Use your fingers with the shadows, not a brush. It's much easier that way. So if you decide to get your hands on your own Mega Vision palette from Smashbox, be prepared to clean up some fallout!

Clearly Smashbox could have been a little more creative with the names (I mean, c'mon... blue and dark blue?!), but that's alright because all in all, I would definitely deem this a useful palette to have!
