LOTD: February 22nd, 2014

Today was a pretty chill today. I only went out for a little bit with Monet, but I did decide to actually put on makeup so I would have something to post for you guys later on! Which I guess, is well, now! So here it is, my LOTD!

Full Face
Lips: Yves St. Laurent Touche Éclat and MAC Viva Glam II

Eyes: Almond and Red shadow from the Smashbox Mega Vision palette and MAC Folie shadow

Eyes: Almond and Red shadow from the Smashbox Mega Vision palette and MAC Folie shadow

Brows: MAC Folie shadow with Anastasia brow gel, highlighted brow bones with MAC Vanilla pigment.

Eyes: I applied the shadow Almond from the Smashbox Mega Vision palette as a base all over my lid and then I applied the same MAC shadow I used to fill in my eyebrows, Folie, in my crease. After, all over my lid, I applied Red--also from the Mega Vision palette. I applied my black Smashbox gel liner in a thin line across my upper lid and then winged it out just a little. Unfortunately, my most favourite MAC mascara, In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash, has run out and I haven't bought a new one yet, so now I'm using Bobbi Brown's Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening mascara.

Lips: I patted my Yves St. Laurent Touche Éclat highlighter/concealer on my lips and then applied my MAC Viva Glam II lipstick. This is the first time I have ever tried concealing my lips before applying my Viva Glam II lipstick and it really made huge difference! The colour seemed much richer and true as I applied it on a "blank canvas", rather than over top my natural lip colour. Also, usually I have to reapply this lipstick several times throughout the day, especially because it's a nude colour, but it stayed on for hours today! I think I'll stick with this technique as it works super well and increases the staying power of my lipstick; as well as showing a truer colour.

Face: I applied my Urban Decay bronzer in Gilded on my temples and dusted a bit on the apples of my cheeks to give me a nice glow. I then highlighted my cheek bones with my MAC Vanilla pigment.

Make sure to check in with me this weekend as I am excited to post a thing or two other than just LOTD's!

Xoxo,
Russian Red.
