LOTD: February 24th, 2014

Today I tried to recreate a look my new coworker, Leigh, posted on her Instagram (@leighdicksonartistry) that I thought looked awesome. Leigh, being a trained makeup artist, made it look gorgeous and very perfect. It didn't turn out so well for me, but I tried!

Full Face

Lips: MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Shanghai Spice

Eyes: Stila All Day Waterpoof liquid liner, Smolder eyeliner, Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening mascara, UD Naked 2 Half Baked, UD Vice 2 Madness

Eyes: Stila All Day Waterpoof liquid liner, Smolder eyeliner, Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening mascara, UD Naked 2 Half Baked, UD Vice 2 Madness

Eyes: Stila All Day Waterpoof liquid liner, Smolder eyeliner, Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening mascara, UD Naked 2 Half Baked, UD Vice 2 Madness

Brows: MAC shadow in Folie and Anastasia brow gel. 

Eyes: I applied the shade Half Baked from the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay with a wet brush all over my eye lid. Then I took Madness from UD's Vice 2 palette and applied it in my crease and a little past my crease, to my inner corners, and my lower lash line. Because Madness got everywhere, I reapplied Half Baked to my eyelid to really make sure the gold pops in contrast to the blue-y turquoise-ness of Madness. I then used my Stila All Day Waterproof liquid liner in black and lined my upper lids and winged them out (my wings were so so so bad I'm so embarrassed to post these photos...). I tight lined my upper lid and lined my lower water line with my black pencil eyeliner in Smolder from MAC. As for mascara, I used my Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening mascara. 

Lips: MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Shanghai Spice.

Cheeks: Stereo Rose mineralize skin finish. 

I haven't worn eye makeup this bold and extreme in a while and I missed it, but this was a little chaotic and didn't turn out too well. I love the color combination of the gold and blue/turquoise with the pretty nude lip, but if I'm ever to try this again, I'm definitely going to need to ask Leigh for tips. 

But hey, what's makeup for if not for experimenting with new looks, am I right?

P.S, I took the photos of my look at my grandma's house after falling asleep on my face for four hours and didn't have any of my makeup with me to reapply with me so please bare with me! And my eyeliner really isn't the best and I apologize, but I tried!
