The RR Review: Smashbox's Pearl Halo Highlighting Wand

I typically use MAC's Vanilla pigment to highlight, but recently I have been looking for a liquid eyeliner versus a powder. There's always the Yves St. Laurent Touche Éclat, but I feel like it's too Plain Jane to give an actual highlight, it mostly just gives off a slightly brightened affect for me or I use it to clean up my brows. I decided to give Smashbox's Halo Highlighting Wand in Pearl a shot and I'd say it's a fairly nice product!

Close Up Look at the Brush Applicator

The first thing I noticed about this product, is that it's huge. Very big, very bulky. Definitely not what I'm used to with the YSL Touche Eclat. The brush applicator is also big, but very soft and I like that. The first time I used it, I had to twist the bottom for a few minutes before anything came out. The actual product is just liquid shimmer. Pure liquid shimmer. Because of that fact, I would only use it to highlighted my cheek bones and maybe my brow bones. I would not want to be highlighting middle of forehead, nose bridge, or chin with this. I don't like my cheeks super shimmery, so I wouldn't be using this every day. On the cheeks, it is fairly pretty. Gives a great look of radiance. When you apply it, only apply a small amount because any more and you'll have so much excess shimmer on your skin that you'll look like a fairy. I'd say it's about an 8 out of 10--the bulkiness of the package is a turn off and it's super shimmery, as I mentioned, but it is nice to highlight your cheek bones.
