Sneak Peek: MAC Studio Sculpt Shade and Line Three in One Palettes (Ebony Blend)

That awkward moment when you go from thinking a product has been released to being told it hasn't to having it secretely brought out to you to use to having three makeup artists work on you at once.

That was basically the summed up version of my adventure at MAC yesterday! I thought their new Studio Sculpt Shade and Line had been released, but turns out it isn't coming out until April 26th. Fortunately, my forever favourite, Stephanie, brought the product out for me to play with anyways! Me being totally all over the place, I completely forgot it was Fashion Forward week at the Park Royal counter! Despite being super duper busy with the event and having all the other artists there, Steph started out doing a cut crease on me using the Ebony Blend from the collection.

MAC Studio Sculpt Shade and Line: Ebony Blend
Steph used the matte eyeliner "wet" using Fix + to draw the shape just above my natural crease, then filled in below a shadow using the darker eyeshadow shade, and then patted the white shadow in between the cut crease and my eyeliner. Sadly, I didn't get a photo of this, but it was more of a day time/natural/not over the top cut crease.

Her tips to me were:
•Instead of using water to apply product wet, spray your brush—never the product directly—with Fix + for a less watered down version of the product and for more staying powder.
•When drawing the shape of your cut crease, you can place it wherever, but keep your eye at a relaxed state instead of stretching your lid taunt; this makes it easier to draw/place the shape.

Steph only did the one eye and then another artist I've been getting to know a lot more lately, Lilia, started doing my other eye with her idea of a cut crease. It was funny because the way she went about doing it was the complete opposite approach of what Steph did. We all had a good laugh about it, it's funny how the same idea can be pictured so differently by two different people.

After Lilia finished, the artist in charge of the Fashion Forward event, Tasha, stepped in to "join in on the action"! She didn't erase Steph's look on my one eye and took Lilia's look on the other eye and just worked on both my eyes. I was surrounded by so many artists at that point all talking about my face and Steph, Lilia, and Tasha's techniques that I just kind of shied away and let them do their own thing while I just sat there. The final results of having pretty much everyone there have a go at my face looked like this:

The shape had been outlined using the matte eyeliner in the centre of the trio, the darker eyeshadow had been applied just below the shape and in the outer corners as a shadow and then the white eyeshadow had been applied in the entire and inner corners. On my upper lash line was my Geisha Ink liquid eyeliner from before as well as my Geisha Ink mascara on my lashes. On my lower lid, I think she just blended the darker eyeshadow along there.

Some of the other blends other than the Ebony one that I liked include:

MAC Studio Sculpt Shade and Line: Espresso Blend
MAC Studio Sculpt Shade and Line: Indigo Blend
MAC Studio Sculpt Shade and Line: Olive Blend
I'm really looking forward to when this product is finally released! I think it's very versatile and great because it's a whole eye look in one or you can use it alongside other products, too! I think the artists from yesterday are as well after not getting a chance to really play with it at Update and then seeing it in action on my face and getting to really use it for the first time!

Xoxo,
Russian Red.
