Today was a busy and exciting day! My boyfriend's mom got married and so we were there all day! It wad a beautiful ceremony and a very lovely reception, congratulations to the new married couple! Unfortunately, because my morning was so rushed and because we were busy all day, I was only able to snap two photos of my makeup, but I did was to post today's LOTD so please try to bare with me!

LOTD: March 28th, 2014

Hi everyone! I've been seeing a lot of cut creases out in the beauty world lately and thought I'd give the look a shot! I don't think it really worked out as an actual cut crease, but I do like what it ended up looking like so I'm happy!

New Baby! The Electric Palette from Urban Decay!

I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT! Last night, I came home utterly exhausted amd ready to crash into bed when... I walked in and saw the new Electric palette from Urban Decay on my bed! Thanks, mother! You guys should have seen me, I was legitimately bouncing up and down I was so excited and happy!

LOTD: March 26th, 2014

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS LOOK BECAUSE I USED URBAN DECAY'S NEW ELECTRIC PALETTE AND I BLENDED THE SHADOWS TOGETHER REALLY NICELY! My boyfriend says my eyes remind me of galaxy pattern today, haha, alrighty then. Here it is! P.S, didn't really know where I was originally going with this look so it's going to be a little difficult to explain what I did.

LOTD: March 23rd, 2014

A very pink-y hued look today! I used Geisha Ink's liquid eyeliner for the first time and I'm very impressed—you can check out the review I wrote about it if you're interested! I didn't have time to take photos of my makeup in the morning so I had to do them at work and forgot to take a full face photo, oops!

The RR Review: Geisha Ink's Liquid Eyeliner

Wow! All I can say is WOW! I have tried quite a few liquid eyeliners in the past, but none of them match up to Geisha Ink's liquid liner!

New Baby! MAC's Face and Body Foundation!

I have never liked wearing foundation before because I felt like I had no need for it and I don't like covering my skin, but lately I have been feeling like I need some coverage to just really pull my looks together. The only foundation I have enjoyed wearing in the past was MAC's Face and Body one. I have tried things others from Makeup Forever, Nars, Bobbi Brown, and various drugstore brands, but all of them have either been too much (covered my freckles and I didn't look like me anymore), made my skin feel disgusting, or made me break out. Which is obviously what I wasn't looking for.

MAC Face and Body Foundation Packaging

MAC Face and Body Foundation, Shade: N1
Every time I get my makeup done by MAC, I have chosen to use this foundation. It's a great product if you're looking for clean, sheer coverage, but still want more than just a tinted moisterizer. I only purchased the 50ML bottle, but you really don't need the bigger size because you only need a little bit each use to achieve the desired results. It's a sheer look foundation, but it does have buildable coverage. Meaning, if you want more coverage after applying the first time, you can add a second layer to build the coverage of this foundation.

For those who have sensitive skin and often have issues with face products, this one shouldn't irritate your skin! I have fairly sensitive skin, but this foundation doesn't bother my skin at all and I can honestly barely feel it against my skin—it just feels so natural and that's what I love about the product!

I am pretty darn pale, so I wear the N1 shade; I'm pretty sure it's the lightest shade, but if you're interested in this foundation, you can go into any MAC location and they'll definitely find the right shade for you!

At the end of the day, I give this product a 10/10! It does the job, it's not too heavy, feels very natural on the skin, lasts throughout the day, ect. I have used this foundation several times before buying it and I have never had one bad thing to say about it!

LOTD: March 17th, 2014 (Happy St. Patrick's Day!)

Happy St. Patty's day everyone! Well, belated, since I'm posting this look on the 18th of March and not yesterday… anyways, hope you all celebrated the day well and had lots of fun! My friends and I just ended up getting Mcdonalds and talking in my living room until 1am when I eventually passed out, haha. It was nice though so I'm not complaining. Here's my green look for St. Patrick's Day!

LOTD: March 14th, 2014 (#2!)

This morning I did a fairly simple look because I didn't want my makeup to clash with my new hair and it way to early to do anything else with my face. Earlier tonight, I had a birthday dinner to go to so I just amped up my look a bit. I didn't take off any of my makeup from earlier, I just added more to what I was already wearing and changed my lipstick.

New Babies! Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, MAC Bittersweet Pro Longwear Lip Liner, & MAC Magenta Lip Liner!

I GOT THE DIPBROW I GOT THE DIPBROW I GOT THE DIPBROW YES YES YES YES YES! Ever since Leigh at work told me about it, I've been hearing about it a lot and I thought it was only available in the states, but Sephora in Canada carries it and I BOUGHT IT! I BOUGHT ONE! I bought the Auburn Dipbrow and it doesn't have as many red tones in it as I had hoped for, and it is fairly dark, but I love it. It is pretty dark for me, but I'm just not used to my brows looking like this and so I need to get used to it. Anastasia's Dipbrow is a pomade in a little jar. For those of you who don't know what a brow pomade is (it's okay, I had to have Leigh explain it to me two weeks ago), I'd decribe it like a gel eyeliner for your eyebrows, but waxy. You apply it with an angled liner brush and it gives sharp definition to your brows, is colored (comes in colors like Ebony, Blonde, ect.), and keeps the hairs in place with it's waxy texture. Tip: Just like with gel liners, flip the jar upside down on your counter when not in direct use to avoid it drying out. All in all, I give it a 10 out of 10. It's the bomb diggity.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn
As for the liners, I have most of my bases covered. My nude lips I just use concealer. For burgundy lips like Diva, I have the Burgundy lip pencil. I have More To Love for bright pink colors and I have a red MAC lip liner for my red lipsticks, but I'm severely lacking a liner for Heroine and darker lips, mostly brown, like Paramount.

I bought the lip liner Magenta for Heroine as it's the most purple liner they have, it looks great with Heroine, and it doesn't make the lipstick to pink like the liner More to Love does.

As for Bittersweet, I bought it mainly for Paramount and eventually for the lipstick Filme Noire once I've purchased it. It's a chocolatey brown color—I bet I could even try darkening Diva with it and lessening the purple in it as well!

I'm beyond excited to have two brand new lip liners as I never went out of my way to own any before, but now I know they are a must!

Left to Right: Magenta, Bittersweet

Magenta Lip Pencil

Bittersweet Pro Longwear Lip Pencil
I spend way too much money on makeup, but it's so so so worth it!

Have any of you tried the Dipbrow before?

LOTD: March 14th, 2014 (#1!)

Another beautiful sunny day in Vancouver! I spent the majority of my day downtown at the hair salon redyeing my hair and am now running all over the place to pick up an Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow I have waiting on hold for me! Today has been the best day because I love how my hair turned out and Canada apparently carries the DipBrow, when I thought you could only get it in the states. YAY! When I saw Sephora actually had the Dipbrow (I walked in prepared to be told what I already thought I knew about Canada not having it), I legitimately jumped up and down and clapped my hands. Pathetic, right? But I have heard so many amazing things about this product lately that it's okay... right?! The reason I'm running around to get it now instead of buying it earlier is because that particular Sephora was out of stock in the Auburn one, but they put one on hold for me at another location! Here's today's LOTD—before my dye job!

Poll Results: What is Your Favorite MAC Lipstick Finish?

My first poll closed today! I wanted to know what your favorite MAC lipstick finish is as there are so many of them!

Matte Came in First with 19 Votes!

As you can see, Matte came in first with 19 votes (63%) followed by Cremesheen, Frost, and Satin, all with 3 votes each (10%). As for third place, Amplified and Glaze tied with a grand total of one vote each (3%).

It's sort of funny how this vote closed with these results as they sort of reflect my lipstick collection as well as my own thoughts. My most favourite finish is, just like 63% of your's, matte. I find it lasts longer than any others, they come in brighter colors, and I like the texture of it on my lips. My very first MAC lipstick was Cremesheen and I like this finish, it's very pretty, but now that I am older, I don't like the creaminess of the texture on my lips. I bought my first Frost lipstick this year, New York Apple, and I love the metallic look of it. I'm sad because I have only worn it once, and I don't know why only once so far, but I plan to wear it sometime soon in the future! As for Satin, I just got Paramount--my second satin lipstick-- after only buying my first, Captive, about two months ago. There isn't much to say about Satin, it seems pretty... normal? When I think about it, I don't believe I own any Amplified or Glaze lipsticks; so my opinion is pretty non-existent regarding those two, and apparently all of you think close to the same considering those two only gained 6% of votes between the both.

Have more thoughts in regards to this poll? Comment below, message me on Facebook, email me, or send me a tweet!

New Baby! MAC's Paramount Satin Lipstick!

MAC's recycling program is golden. For those of you who aren't familiar with the program, if you bring in 6 products made of glass or plastic, you get a free lipstick—at one of the normal MAC stores, like the ones attached to the Bay— or you can get either a free lipstick, eyeshadow, or lipgloss if you bring 6 items into a MAC PRO store, which are their stand alone stores. I'm only interested in getting lipsticks so I just go to one of the normal MAC stores because they're closer to me and serve my purposes. There, now you're all on the same page about the program!

Anyways, I had six old/empty products I didn't want anymore: a hot pink cremesheen lipgloss, a pink dazzleglass lipgloss, one of their very old lip tints, a peachy blush from one of last year's collections, my old in Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash mascara, and the 4 eyeshadow mini Betty palette from the Archie collection a few years back. In return for those six products, I walked away with the satin finish lipstick, Paramount.

The RR Review: Geisha Ink Voluminous Mascara

I recently ran out my most favorite mascara, MAC's In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash, and have been using Bobbi Brown's Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening mascara until I bought a new mascara. Normally, I would have went to MAC to pick up another one, but everyone at work loves one of the mascaras we carry, Geisha Ink. I figured I'd give it a go.

Update: Oops! I Made a Mistake!

I feel really dumb, but I realized yesterday that the mineralize skin finish I've been wearing almost daily from MAC's A Fantasy of Flowers collection isn't called Stereo Rose, but Perfect Topping. Stereo Rose is from the pink half of the collection whereas Perfect Topping is from the green half. My bad, sorry about that! So just take note that every time I've mentioned MAC's Stereo Rose mineralize skin finish, I actually meant the Perfect Topping mineralize skin finish.

Sorry about this mix up!

Update: New Purchases Coming Up and More!

Hi everyone!

Thanks to all of you who have been keeping up with my blog since the start as well as to those who are just discovering it now! I just wanted to update you on a few things!

1. I have fallen in love with fake eyelashes, if you didn't already see my LOTD from March 8th.

2. I'm not super great at winged eyeliner even though I love doing it. I got a few tips from Leigh at work today though so I really hope to improve!

3. As some of you may know, I ran out of my beloved MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash mascara, and I did plan to go buy another, but Leigh and everyone else at Kiss and Makeup worship this mascara we carry from Geisha? I have never heard of it until starting at the store, but tomorrow I plan to purchase my first one and I will post a review to let you know what I think after trying it out! So you can look forward to an RR Review about that in the next coming days for sure!

4. I finally managed to learn about the LA based brand Sugar Pill and I can not tell you how excited I am to order a ton of pressed and loose eyeshadows from their collection in the near future! For those of you in the dark about this brand—like I was up until a week or two ago—it's an all Vegan line based in LA filled with SUPER pigmented pressed and loose eyeshadows. Go Google it sometime if you want to learn more.

5. I have a two week Spring Break starting on March 14th and so I plan to actually wear makeup every day and post a lot more; and not just LOTD's!

Also, please follow the blog's Twitter and like the Facebook if you wish to keep updated with the blog! And please don't hesitate to invite your friends to like the Facebook page or to show them/tell them about my blog, I would love to gain a broader audience! Oh! A feel free to contact me through either of those two or to email me (check my contact page for my email) if you have any questions, suggestions, ect!

I think that was all I wanted to update y'all on!

LOTD: March 8th, 2014 (Fake Eyelashes! Fake Eyelashes! Fake Eyelashes!)

Tip: If you want to feel extra glamorous and extra beautiful, throw on a pair of fake eyelashes and you'll be transformed into a bombshell in under five minutes!

I've fallen in love with fake eyelashes!!! My coworker who I have mentioned previously a couple of times, Leigh, often wears lashes daily whereas I have only worn mine for special events. Today, I decided to change that and wear my fake eyelashes to work and then later on when I went for sushi with Momo and our friend, Becca— and I'm in love. When I got home and I took them off, my face just looked so bare and incomplete. I think wearing falsies will start to be a reacurring trend with me as of now! Oh, and I apologize in advance; I was so rushed this morning trying to get out the door that I didn't have time to take photos of my makeup and I apologize because my eye lashes were barely hanging on by the time I got home and there were a bunch of other flaws from a 10 hour day out so beware, my makeup looked a lot better this morning!

Happy Friday, everyone! Finally! This week has been pretty rough, I've been home sick for two days straight so I don't exactly feel my best right now. My mother brought home a bunch of Stila from her work for me to try, so I chose to use one of my new Stila Smudge Sticks today!

LOTD: March 2nd, 2014

Hi everyone! Please don't judge me, this looks so bad because I totally forgot to take pictures this morning and so I had to take photos after working all day and so my makeup is pretty blah—so bare with me! Haha! I did attempt to use my new Urban Decay Smoked palette, though! I posted an RR Review about it so if you want to know my thoughts regarding this smokey palette, go check out that post, too!

Full Face

The RR Review: Urban Decay's Smoked Palette!

As you might have seen yesterday when I posted, I just got Urban Decay's Smoked Palette and promised to write a little review on it today after playing around with it. All in all, not extremely impressed with it. I would give it a 6 and a half, maybe 7 out of 10. This palette definitely does not compare to any of the three Naked palettes-- all of which I own.

First of all, the colors are nothing special. Not very bright, not very pigmented. And there was quite a bit of fallout. Also, I found them kind of lacking when I tried to apply them just because they didn't really stick to the lid, they didn't go on evenly, and it was so hard trying to get the color solid. I had to go over and over, again and again trying to get the product looking solid on my lid. So far, I am not a big fan of these eyeshadows. The only thing I liked about these shadows was how well they blend. The palette also came with their 24/7 Glide On eyeliner pencil in Perversion. I love the intensity of the black and I was really excited to use it, but the only flaw is it bleeds/leaks like crazy. It's a very creamy, very smooth liner and it just bleeds right out through the day. Aside from that, I am pretty pleased with this liner. The last part of the palette was a travel sized Primer Potion. I have been using this primer from Urban Decay for over a year now and although there is a cult obsession about it around the world, I don't see the appeal. It's a good product--it does the job--, but doesn't have that "wow factor' I expected after hearing people rant and rave about it for years.

I plan to experiment more with Smoked in the future, but it's really nothing special.

Own it? Tried it? Want it? Let me know what you think of this smokey palette!

Xoxo,
Russian Red.

New Baby! Smoked Palette from Urban Decay!

First thing I saw when I walked into my room after coming home late tonight? A brand new makeup palette lying on my bed. Urban Decay's Smoked palette, to be exact. Thanks, mom! So you know what this means... NEW BABY WOOHOO! I like makeup, a lot. I like getting new makeup even better. I'm really excited to try this palette out tomorrow! But first, here are some photos of the palette, swatches, and my general thoughts on it so far!

LOTD: March 1st, 2014 (Holy Cow! Can't Believe It's March!)

Hey everyone! Today was a really busy day for me; I worked all day and then attended my school's play Alice in Wonderland. The show was fantastic and I am very, very sad I chose not to be apart of the cast this year! Great job to everyone who participated— cast and crew! I really could not do more than just a simple look today as I am very tired and really, really just wanting to go barefaced so badly right now! The most exciting thing about my face today was that I wore Diva for the first time in ages!
