LOTD: February 28th, 2014 (Graphic Cat Eye!)
First off, I'd just like to say how impressed I am with myself for being able to recreate this look and how happy I am with the results! This is definitely a look I plan to repeat/play with in the future!

Update: Photography
Hi guys! As you have probably noticed, my makeup photos are severely lacking in professionalism and also generally lacking in just looking nice/showcasing my makeup well. I only have my iPhone to work with as I am not a big photography person, but I am trying my best! My coworker—who has been previously mentioned— is a fantastic makeup artist and posts her makeup looks on her Instagram: @leighdicksonartistry. She's really good, I can promise you that! Anyway, I asked her today how she takes her photos because she's using her iPhone as well and her photos turn out to be pretty darn stellar—unlike my own photos. Point is, I'm going to try a new way to take photos of my makeup and I'm really hoping it works so all of you can get a better look at the makeup I am trying hard to share with you!
On a side note, please invite your friends to like the Facebook page and to follow the Twitter account for this blog! It would mean a lot, thanks everyone!

LOTD: February 26th, 2014
I'm really excited to share this look because I'm wearing one of my most favorite MAC lipsticks (Rebel) and I haven't worn it in forever! Oh, and it's my second shift tonight at Kiss and Makeup so I'm extra excited because after my first shift, I just know this is going to be the best job ever and it's such a great oppurtunity for me— especially with me taking on this makeup blog as I believe each will help with the other!

LOTD: February 24th, 2014
Today I tried to recreate a look my new coworker, Leigh, posted on her Instagram (@leighdicksonartistry) that I thought looked awesome. Leigh, being a trained makeup artist, made it look gorgeous and very perfect. It didn't turn out so well for me, but I tried!

LOTD: February 23rd, 2014 (My First Day at Kiss and Makeup!)
Today was very exciting and the pressure was on as I had my first shift at Kiss and Makeup today! Kiss and Makeup is a cute little store in Park Royal village selling clothes, hair brands; like Oribe and Bumble&Bumble, skin care brands; for example Tatta Harper and Lina, makeup brands; like Stila, Becca, and Vincent Longo, as well as things like a laundry line and jewellery! It was only my first day, but I'm already in love with the stock, staff, and everything else! I was so stressed out in the morning with my makeup and outfit, but here's what I left the house with on my face:

LOTD: February 22nd, 2014
Today was a pretty chill today. I only went out for a little bit with Monet, but I did decide to actually put on makeup so I would have something to post for you guys later on! Which I guess, is well, now! So here it is, my LOTD!

LOTD: February 21st, 2014 ("Red Queen" Look!)
Well, I have now narrowed down my list of future careers. Model has definitely been taken off that list (although, it was never really a contender), along with Mathmatician.
My best friend, Monet (aka as Momo), and our Swiss friend—who for our purposes, will be referred to as "Swedish Berries"— were assigned to photograph a character from Alice in Wonderland and photoshop them into a background in correlation with our school play this year... which is obviously Alice in Wonderland. Being a red head, they asked me to be the Red Queen for them. Actually, the entire time Swedish Berries was photographing me, he thought I was Alice. Which makes sense now that I look back on it since he kept putting flowers in my hair and making me hold baskets filled with more flowers. Uh, I have no idea what Switzerland is teaching their kids about Alice in Wonderland, but tha's alright! So I guess there was some miscomunication between Momo and Swedish Berries on which character they wanted to use.
I modeled my makeup after this variation of the Red Queen from Disney's film:

LOTD: February 19th, 2014 (#2!)
Here it is, my second LOTD because I apparently not only got out of bed at 5:30 in the morning and managed to put on makeup once today, but decided to do it a second time! Yay! This is what I actually wore on my face to my job interview (Which I believe went super well! Fingers crossed!) earlier this aftenoon!
LOTD: February 19th, 2014 (NĂºmero Uno!)
Yes, yes that does say number one above in the title! I actually have two LOTD's for y'all today! The look I originally created in the morning (this one) just didn't sit well with me and I had a job interview today too so I ended up going home and redoing my makeup later on in the day!

The Lipsticks Behind the Name!
For those of you who aren't familiar with MAC Cosmetics lipsticks—or boader-line crazy about them, like me—, they played a huge roll in me choosing my pen name and blog name.

The RR Review: Smashbox's Mega Vision Palette
My first review post! How exciting! Recently, my mother brought home Smashbox's Mega Vision palette for me to try. I'm not really a huge fan of their brand, but I decided to give it a go. The only product of their's that I really worship is their colorless Photo Finish Foundation Primer; which unfortunately I no longer use because I do not wear foundation, but I did wear it under all my stage makeup for years when I used to dance. This palette comes with a mirror, several mini "look" cards, 30 eye shadow shades, 3 blushes, and one bronzer.

LOTD: February 16th, 2014
This morning, I was so frustrated with my face. NOTHING WAS WORKING HOW IT SHOULD. The fallout from my eyeshadow decided to darken my face and not come off, I couldn't seem to fill in my brows properly, and then at that point I was just agitated by every little thing. But here's my look anyways! Enjoy!

LOTD: February 14th, 2014 (My Valentine's Day Look!)
Okay, so my boyfriend is attending school in New York City. Which means, unfortunately, we were not able to celebrate together this year; but on the bright side, my best friend, Monet, and I went out for dinner (where everyone assumed we were lesbians). I tried to stick to the stereotypical pink-y shades of Valentine's Day, but I just had to add a little kick to it with my Sassy Moss fluid line (of course) and Chartreuse Bouquet pigment!

LOTD: February 13th, 2014
Purple is one of my favorite colors when it comes to makeup and the only word I can use to describe this look is: PURPLE.
LOTD: February 11th, 2014
My very first "Look of the Day" post! Yay! Hopefully after reading my last few posts, you gals will have figured out by now how much I love the Sassy Moss fluid line from MAC Cosmetic's Spring Collection. So please don't hate me for using it A LOT, I promise I won't wear it in every LOTD! It's just so new and so beautiful... and so so so easy to wear all the time! I was really just testing out some of my new babies from February 7th in this look, and so this is sort of a repeat of the look Stephanie at MAC Park Royal created for me!
New Babies! My Purchases from February 7th!
After having the lovely Stephanie do my makeup on February 7th using the new "A Fantasy of Flowers" Spring collection from MAC Cosmetics, I spent quite a bit of moolah buying me some new babies! For those of you who don't know me (but for those who do: shout out to Olive!), my lipsticks are my babies, but basically any new purchase is like a precious baby to me. Here's what I bought:
| Left to Right: Stereo Rose minerlize skin finish, Chartreuse Bouquet Pigment, Lily-White pigment, Sassy Moss fluid line, New York Apple lipstick (Frost), Creme de Violet eye shadow |
MAC's "A Fantasy of Flowers" Makeup Event: February 7th, 2014
MAC Cosmetics launched their spring collection, "A Fantasy of Flowers", on February 6th, 2014. My best friend and I made appointments for the 7th to get our makeup done by MY FAVORITE MAC ARTIST EVER, Stephanie (new manager at Park Royal location), to test out the new collections. Being the fair- skinned, red head I am, I went with the collection that had all the gorgeous greens in it versus the one that was more inclined towards pink. Oh and boy did Steph do a fantastic job (as always)! I looked like a fairy!
